When I say I LOVE this family...I mean it! I have known them for quite some time and saw the brother and sister grow up and now they are welcoming another little bundle of joy. Again this was another fun filled session outside at the Yards Park in Washington, DC and the kids had a blast. We finished the session with a quick lunch afterwards. Please, Like Share and Follow!
Another awesome family sat in front of my camera and allowed me to capture a brief moment of their time. Loving, sweet and adorable explain them perfectly. We had a great time in DC capturing these few images even though it was unbearably hot. The boys were adorable and couldn't be any cute.
2016 was the second year for DC Swim Week and DC Swim Week came in as the weather in the area was at record highs. I did not make it to the first three events, but I did make it to the finale show at the Embassy Hotel in Washington DC. The show did not disappoint! The SWAG bags were amazing and so were the models and the music. Great designers from the area as well as several designers from abroad to include Brazil and Lisbon were on deck. Anyone that photographs newborns knows that ever session is different. For some reason lately my last three little boys have given me a run for my money and little Christian was no different. Usually I swaddle and they sleep but he was not here for it! He was awake the entire session! We still managed to get some great photos with his sister and brother and is Grandmother. Another loving family in the books and I am glad they are enjoying their images.
I was linked up with Syreeta C Fashion in April and she was gracious enough to ask me to become a part of her prom giveaway. I thought it would be a great experience to give back to a local teen in the DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia area and document the journey through photographs. Prom Promenade is open to all high school seniors in the DMV area and they must fill out an application with a short essay on why they deserve to win. We also take into account the GPA and any future goals that the individual may have.
Once we received the applications this year our winner was clear and it was Miss Kailah. Kailah had an amazing story along with the GPA and future goals and had already accepted the college she would attend to study Nursing. Once we selected Kailah we met with her and her mother and had the initial concept meeting for the dress. This included the sketch, color selection and fabric choice. It was awesome to be apart of this initial meeting and help push her out of her comfort zone. Heck...it is not ever day you get a custom gown, hair and makeup package, stylist and photography! The next meeting was the first fitting with a rough example of the gown to get the fit as close as possible. From there, Syreeta began to construct the gown and then we had the fitting with the actual gown. We had one more fitting that happened at the hair salon with Tei from The Tei Touch. The stylist Kasha Reavis, sent some amazing shoes, jewelry and a killer handbags for Kailah's big prom night!
Finally, it was prom night and we all came together with Kailah's family to help her get ready. Her mother cooked for us and we had music and fun! They were so welcoming to us! We got her hair and makeup finished, got her dressed and sent her on her way with he two closest friends.
Prom Promenade was such as awesome experience and I can't wait until we get going for Prom 2017!
While I was in Alabama a great friend and old boss of mine needed updated photos to document her family and there time in the south. So while there we had this mini session at a nearby park and got these great shots. I even got my little Calvin Klein model for the day to give me some interesting faces while we were out. It was so good to see them and hang out for the few moments we had.
I met Ms. Ivy online and we sent text back and forth for a couple of days and then met up for this session. We clicked right away and we had an amazing time on our shoot. Ivy was such a sweet person to work with and we vibed on everything from yoga to tattoos. She recently just started her own yoga studio and you can find her on IG and YouTube to see her words of inspiration and daily poses. I will definitely look her up when I head back to Cali!
BABY ALERT!!!! 11 days old and Andrew was in from of my camera! He has a special blanket that he loves and without it...he doesn't stay asleep very long. His mother and I had a time trying to keep him cozy and comfy. As you can see even swaddled he was wide awake, but as soon as you put the magic blanket on him he would go to sleep. He was adorable and can't wait to see him in 3 months!
Whose is a dancer at heart? ME!!! I love everything about dance and being able to express yourself. I always want to photograph dancers and their movement and how they express themselves. I had the pleasure of meeting Lindey and we had a great time in the photo studio and listened to some great music. Her strength and love for this art form was great to watch and I wish her the best in her budding career.
Fashion, fashion, fashion!!! This lady has the look as well as the wardrobe to match. We met on IG and from there I knew we would work well together. Love Joy Styles writes a blog and puts her own twist on fashion by breaking the rules and creating her own looks with a mix of vintage and new. Meeting new people is what I love to do. On a recent trip to NYC to attend a class I had the opportunity to photograph NYC/Miami model Aaron Bryant. There is nothing like having a newborn in the studio in the afternoon! Miss Margo was no exception and was a pure joy to meet and cuddle with! She was so sweet with her head full of hair and overall calm disposition. Her parents and little sister have become a staple in my studio and I can't wait to see more milestones from this family as they continue to grow!
I was excited to be contacted by this blended family to photograph their love for each other. I recently met them while in school and built a quick respect and friendship with them. The girls were absolutely adorable and one was camera ready at all times...which makes me very happy as a photographer. It was a pleasure photographing them on location in Richmond, Virginia and I look forward to many more sessions together.
Everyone meet Sean or Shon as he is listed on social media! Sean is an aspiring actor who lives in the DMV and was awesome to photograph. He was more than willing to listen and opened to all the crazy ideas I had for his session. We have another shoot scheduled soon and I can't wait to see what comes out of it. Stay tuned!
Meeting people is what I do and I love when I meet people that like to be in front of my camera. A few weeks ago I was contact by Rayshawn that wanted to update his photos to update his online presence. He recently became a spokesperson for a supplement company and is on his way to doing big things. I look forward to working with him again in the future.
Family sessions are so much fun...especially when they are a combo to announce the new arrival to the family. This session was so fun and carefree on a chilly afternoon. The girls were glad to walk in the leaves and sit and look at the water while mom and dad took some photos with each other. I can't wait to meet the new little one and capture his first moments.
New models that are trying to grow their portfolios are awesome to work with. Theo was no exception. We have had the opportunity to work together twice and try some different looks. He is an awesome guy and being Asian brings a different flavor to the industry. I hope that he is able to pick up some work in this ever changing industry. Enjoy, Like and Share!
I recently met this young lady through her fiancé and she and I are both from California and clicked immediately. She wanted to do a session for him to surprise him and also to have a professional session done for herself....for once. We had an amazing time as we customized her session to include his guitar and to accent her awesome tattoos. Boudoir can be tastefully done, but the key is to find the photographer that makes you feel comfortable.
